i am receiving predictive Disk failure alert on my vm Hosted on ibm 3650 m3 , we are using exi where i can see disk 0 has this predictive failure alerts .how can i check the issue dose ibm has utility like HP to check remotely.
i have additional disc , what is the procedure to change the drive which may fail [its working now but i am receiving errors ]

After a sudden and prolonged power failure, the following error occurred:
"No logical drives found
No INT 13 drives to support
BIOS not installed. "
In addition, the controller does not see any hard disk and can not initialize them.
Can the problem in the battery or what else can be?

Hello everyone. Please see above picture having 2 x enhanced IBM blowers.
These are required to be installed into a IBM bladecenter H to be able to boot up high performance blades ( as 7875 CTO model. Please correct me if I am wrong)

I have been lucky to buy three used IBM servers at a reasonable price. But I'm missing relevant software for all three machines:
IBM System X 3690 (7147-A3G) - Here I need the latest BIOS
IBM System Storage DS4700 (1814-70A) - Here I need everything for DS Storage Manager in 64 bit Linux version. I mean to have read that there is a MAC OS version of the Storage Manager. If that's right, I'd love to have this one too.
IBM System Storage EXN4000 (2863) - I'm a bit unsure of what to configure this server, but I think it's some NetApp Data ONTAP software. Here too, it must be 64 bit Linux.
My hope is that someone here on Spicework has the software lying or has access to download it from IBM.
I really hope that someone can help, as I would like to soon take my storage server into use soon.

I got a IBM server unit, model x3550 7978-PYY, which I am not able to guess if it belongs to
M, M2 , M3...series. I've type into IBM Red Book and shows like 'without' any M version. Does it means
that it is like M1 or M version (older possible)?
Also I can't access to IMM GUI, and I am not sure if it needs to have like a small blue device to be
connected in order to access to GUI or this comes embeded.

recently recently I bought an IBM x3400 M2 Server with one E5504 Xeon Procesor. I've already replaced it with E5540 and now I'm looking for an opportunity to put another one in the second socket. To do this I need to buy a VRM but prices for it are just insane and goes from 200$ to 400$ :( . Is there any way to but it from a more reasonable price (my server costed me around 100$) or is there any kind of replacement for IBM VRM ? I am adding a library to my library list in PGM A and submitting a job PGM B. PGM B submits a job PGM C. However while debugging pgm C, I notice that the library list does not show that particular library that I added in PGM A. So my question is, does that library need to be added to my LIBL again in PGM C and does the library list change with every new job submitted?

I just recently acquired a new Systems Administrator position. This involves light support for an iSeries AS/400 server.
My issue is I changed a user's thin client to a different unit and everything works great now. However, in her IBM session using Personal Communications 6, she states there used to be a crosshair that showed her cursor position, and now it's gone. Does anyone know what this is and how to correct it? I'm really stumped since I'm not familiar with this product.

Just looking for a ballpark figure on new Tape Lib including drives (2 or 4).
We have a 10 year old IBM TS3200 - 48 slots two drives, the drives can read Ultrium 4 and 5.
It's starting to creak a bit and we also need a bit more capacity as far as tapes go.
New library might be able to get away with 24 slots (if substantially cheaper) as looking to go for l6/l7 tapes and drives.
The figure is just for forecasting to give me an idea of current pricing (most online sites either quote without drives or want you to fill in forms before quote and as I say I am just looking for a rough estimate...we have no plans at the moment to go cloud based for backup and DR due to other restrictions we have).
And one last thing will a newtabe lib with Ultrium l6/l7 drives be able to read and restore froml4/l5 drives (dose notneed to be able to write...

What is the best software to replace as400?
I removed a Plus Hardcard (8-bit card, 20 mb drive) from a Compaq Portable pc.
I tried to boot up the Hardcard on my IBM 5160 XT motherboard, but nothing appears on the screen.
I know the display works, because it goes to ROM Basic otherwise; I have no disks running yet for it.
The Hardcard is getting power and spins. Is there a motherboard jumper setting to set for this on the XT?
Trying to determine if the Hardcard is any good.
