Will an iAccess 5250 emulator session work on IBM i os7.3?
We are currently using version 7.1 of iAccess for Windows 7 for our teller printers
(5250 emulator sessions)
Will this continue to work if we upgrade our iSeries to IBM os 7.3? Or will we have to upgrade to the new client access solutions (java version) of client access.

Laptop Battery Life Complaints around Domain
We have a large number of users on my network who use ThinkPad Ultrabook X1 Carbon. They use this to access Chrome, and Outlook. Occasionally they will access our terminal server, but this is rare and we will soon be taking that option away.
Users report only getting 2-3 hours of battery life per charge. I have run a number of battery checking software such as BatteryInfoView and Hardware Info. All laptop battery health has been between 80 - 100%. Also I have replaced 3 and those same users are coming back to me with the same complaint.
My first thoughts: Issue could be because the users are roaming causing higher then normal Wireless usage. Chrome could be impacting users battery life.
Anyone else have any thoughts regarding a situation like this.

IBM x3530 M4 ThinkServer Check SEL light
Just wondering if anyone has run into this before.
One of our old x3530s have their Check Event Log light on (doesn't have the full lightpath diagnostic panel). Upon checking the SEL, and verifying that everything was alright with DSA, the IPMI log was cleared and server restarted.
However that light doesn't want to turn off.
Any suggestion'd be much appreciated,

Power720 (8202-E4C) Wont boot. Says faulty VRM, same error after replacing VRM
Hi, I've got a Power720 server running AIX that has been operating fine until recently. I powered the server down knowing a coming snowstorm was going to take power out at its location for a few days. Server would not power back up. Here's the boot sequence to the failure:

Re-activate permanent processor CoD
Hello,
I own the IBM 8233-E8B system with one 3.0GHz processor and 8 cores.
After some trouble, I installed another processor card to locate the problem. Now I receive a message from the HMC that a new CoD is necessary.
I have the original CoD from factory build up, but this is not accepted anymore.
Is there any way to activate the code again ?

BMOC error - Failed to initialize ServerGuide media creator
Trying to create boot disk to deploy 2016 on my SystemX 3550 M3 (currently has 2012R2). No matter the system I try this from (my Win10 box, the 3550 server itself) I get the same error no matter the selections - whether it be the full ISO with all the updates or just the boot ISO for deployment. It will always error out when it gets to Creating ServerGuide ISO.
Error message: Media creation error: Failed to initialize ServerGuide media creator.maybe caused by space shortage
I've viewed the other thread that was similar to this, where the solution was the folder length. However, my folders are simply: C:\Support\IBM for the target directory and C:\Support\bootable.iso
The C:\ drive also has over 40GB free space.
I've tried this with versions 11.0.17 and 11.2.1
Is there a bug in the creator files? Because I did find the log files for each...

RS6000 / AIX Support
We have an old system we are working on retiring, but are struggling with a few items relating to our RS6000. I am curious if you, or anyone you know, is a consultant that can work with RS6000 / Oracle systems. We would be willing to do remote support sessions and can get you connected, but I am curious if anyone is still out there that can support these systems.

PCI planar boot issue - IBM m1 x3550 server
I have IBM m1 x3550 server. In process of fixing RAID issue, I ended enabling PCI planar from BIOS. Now server returns CPU (light is on) error on light path diagnostics. I have no display. Server turns on and gets off after few seconds.
Is there any way to turn on by resetting BIOS setting or any other ways?

Management software for DS4200
I got a IBM DS4200 from a company that removed it from service, I am unable to find the management software or any software for that matter. Only place I find anything is IBM's support site and it requires a support contract to access. I am using this for home so I'm not interested in spending data center money on this project.

AS400 session use hostname of PC as session name
Is there any way to configure the .ws files to have WorkStationID= and UserTitle= use the hostname of the PC rather than having to set it in every file so I can just push out the same files rather than having to configure every session?

Lenovo/IBM M5 3100
This is kid of a rant search fro more information.
We have a client with a Lenovo M5 3100 unit. It boots correctly, but if you try to enter DSA it fails the memory pre-check. It jumps from DIMM 2 or DIMM 4 depending on the replacement board. It is under warranty. We/Lenovo have replaced the Mainboard(Refurbished 3 times, RAM, and CPU(2x). This leads me to believe that refurb boards are not being tested correctly. This is really disheartening. I am normally the champion of Lenovo. However, it is only one issue. We have 100's of systems in theild.

Is there a way to delete the library error logs for an IBM TS3500? I understand that you can mark errors as inactive but that doesn't delete them from the log.

Cannot save Virtual configuration settings
Hi Folks,
Just don't see what I'm doing wrong.
I have 8 new 600GB drives that I have installed into my IBM 7383 M4.
Entered 4 groups, RAID10
When I try to save the configuration Yes/No, I select Yes but nothing happens!.
I waited about 5 minutes no change. When I exit back to the Dashboard view,,, it shows...
Drives 0
Drive Groups 0
Virtual Drives 0
It's been a while since I have done one of these but don't remember having this much trouble.
Do I need to run Ctrl-H or Ctrl-S and set it up there first?

IBM DSA xml to html
I have been encountering the error below whenever I run the commands:

I need to convert the xml.gz from IBM DSA that I got from IBM X3650 M4 with RHEL OS to html to be able to read the logs and information and relay to client.
My installer is 64bit (ibm_utl_dsa_dsyte1d-9.61_portable_rhel6_x86-64.bin) that I changed to DSA.exe as per IBM forums advice. And I also have 64bit Windows 7 Enterprise OS, that's why I'm wondering what causes the error.

Help Installing Windows Server 2008 R2 on IBM x225
Hi everyone, I'm having problems while installing Windows 2008 R2. I can't make my server boot from a USB, no matter what USB port I plug it in, what boot order I use, etc. I've already checked that the USB controller is activated and that the USB has the files copied correctly. I can't find the problem, so any help is appreciated.

Iseries\AS400 and ghost paper jams
I have couple of xerox 3610 printers connected via TCP\IP to our IBM Iseries 7.2
it seems the users get notification from the iseries that there is a paper jam, but on the printer all you see is "ready".
user reboots the printer, and it starts printing. user is not removing any paper, just restarting the printer.
I'm trying to wrap my head around the fact that the Iseries thinks the printer has a paper jam, but the printer thinks everything is fine.
any ideas on what could cause this? I have the programmer looking at the driver for the printer on the iseries, but other than that not sure what could be the issue.
