I have a IBM eServer xSeries 226 8488 running windows 2003 that is short on hard disk space. It has three physical disks in RAID x (I'm not sure) and windows reports that 'disk' as 67.8 GB. I have two 36 gb scsi drives taken from another eServer, with the drive racks, that would ease the storage shortage for the year or two that this server needs to keep running.
I have no experience with the RAID system that these servers use. What I'd like to do is create a raid array, maybe RAID 1, out of these two new drives, and then migrate the E partition of the server to this new 'disk'.
How difficult is this? I am not on site so it's not easy for me to check out the bios level RAID config. I don't know if these servers come with any windows level RAID software.
