We have some folders that are located on the AS400 that we access from Windows workstations. People that need access to those folders have a mapped drive to them. Otherwise you can UNC to the folder.
A few months ago an outside company upgraded our AS400 system and ever since then, at random when you go to access that folder you get a prompt for a user name and password. A lot of time it happens right after a person changes their AS400 password, other times completely at random. And when the login prompt comes up it is the persons AS400 login that is required.
This never happened on the old AS400 system, the AS400 guy is at a loss. My thought is because the folder is on the AS400 and it is your AS400 login that is required when prompted accessing the folder that it is authenticating with the AS400. Where normally I was able to reset...
